1941.11 graduated from the 2nd Hei-class flight training course → posted to the 3rd Naval Air Group → 1942.4 attack on Darwin (first combat) → 1942.9 moved up to Rabaul with the main body of the 3rd Naval Air Group under Lt 相生 → early 1942.11 returned to the Southwest Area → 1943 air defence of the Arafura Sea and offensive operations against Darwin (spring to November) → after returning to Japan, instructor at the Oita and Tsukuba Naval Air Groups → end of the war

One of the seasoned veterans who fought continuously on the Darwin raids for a full two years and received a special commendation
