1937.9 applied for and was accepted into the first Kō-class Yokaren → training at the 〔Yokosuka Naval Air Group〕 and Kasumigaura → 1939.6 completed the flight trainee course (promoted Aviation Petty Officer 3rd Class) → Ōita and 〔Omura Naval Air Groups〕 → 1940.1 posted to the 〔12th Naval Air Group〕 (central China front; air defence of key areas and support of the ground fighting) → November instructor at the Yatabe Naval Air Group → after the outbreak of war, joined the Kasuga Maru → 〔Omura Naval Air Group〕 → 1943.4 promoted Flight Warrant Officer → October transferred to the 〔204th Naval Air Group〕 (moved up to Rabaul) → for three months, until the unit fell back to Truk at the end of 1944.1, daily interceptions and offensive operations against Cape Merkus and Torokina → 1944.2.17, in the US carrier raid on Truk (the 〔204th Naval Air Group〕 put up 31 aircraft and lost 18), he shot down two and failed to return; killed in action, promoted two ranks.
Although his combat career lasted less than six months, it was lamented that both his character and skill had been remarkably mature
