1934.6 accepted as a 5th-class Otsu preparatory flight trainee (the Preparatory Flight Training Course (Yokaren)) → graduated 1937.8 and went on to the flight training course → completed 1938.3 → 佐伯, 〔Omura Naval Air Group〕 and service aboard Sōryū → 1940.10 posted to the fighter unit of 千歳 Naval Air Group → 1941.10 moved up to the Marshall Islands (air defense of the Inner South Seas) → 1942.2 transferred to the 〔4th Naval Air Group〕 (Rabaul base) → on 2.11 and 2.13 shot down three Hudsons in all over Surumi (Gasmata) → 3.11 one shot down on his first sortie to Lae → as a mainstay of the 〔4th Naval Air Group〕 fighter unit he shot down four in all in the attacks on Port Moresby and Horn Island → promoted to Flight Warrant Officer (Flight Warrant Officer) and transferred to Tainan (Taiwan) Naval Air Group (the Port Moresby operation, interception fighting at Lae) → 1942.6.9, while chasing a B-26 off Cape Ward Hunt, he was jumped by a formation of 11 P-39s; posted missing and officially declared killed in action.

Flying the Type 96 Carrier Fighter, shot down a string of Hudson bombers, and continued to score victories after converting to the Zero
