Born in Kumamoto Prefecture; in 1942.1, after the war had begun, he completed the 5th Kō-class flight training course and was posted to the fighter unit attached to the headquarters of the 22nd Air Group (22Naval Air Group, as written) (the southern operations were already over and there was no chance of air combat) → April transferred to the fighter unit of Kanoya Naval Air Group (later redesignated the 〔253rd Naval Air Group〕); after a move to the Southwest Area he went up to Rabaul (later Kavieng) in September and took part in the New Guinea and Solomons air fighting until May of the following year → 1944.4 transferred to Fighter Squadron 407 and moved to the Philippines in October; after returning home he was posted to Fighter Squadron 407 of the 〔343rd Naval Air Group〕 and played a leading part in the homeland air defense battles until the end of the war.

It is said that, as of the time the book was written, he was serving as a test pilot for the MU-2 after the war
