1938.2 completed the 40th pilot trainee (the Pilot Trainee Course (Sōren)) course → end of 1939 attached to the 〔14th Naval Air Group〕 (South China front) → 1940 instructor at Hyakurihara Naval Air Group → 1941.11 moved into French Indochina → 1942.5 promoted to petty officer 1st class (Flight Petty Officer), fighter unit of Kanoya Naval Air Group → 1942.8 Tainan (Taiwan) Naval Air Group, moved up to Rabaul → 1942.8.24 his first combat in the Southeast Area, a hard fight with P-39s in the attack on Rabi (three shot down) → ten kills in a little over two months → instructor at Ōita Naval Air Group → 1944.3 attached to the 〔652nd Naval Air Group〕 → 1944.6.19, in the Battle of the Philippine Sea (off the Marianas), he set out to attack the US task force but could not find the enemy and was jumped by enemy fighters just before landing on Guam; posted missing and officially declared killed in action.
