1938 graduated with 〔the 65th class of the Naval Academy〕 → 1940.4 〔the 32nd flight training course〕 → 〔12th Naval Air Group〕 (China front; no chance of air combat) → 1941.10 promoted Lieutenant, division leader of the 〔3rd Naval Air Group〕 → 1941.12.8 the invasion of Luzon (his first victory) → fought through the Philippines and the Netherlands East Indies → 1942.4 division leader, 〔6th Naval Air Group〕 → June, aboard the carrier Jun'yō for the attack on Dutch Harbor → moved up to Rabaul, division leader of the 〔204th Naval Air Group〕 → squadron leader → 1943.6.16, in the attack on shipping off Lunga, Guadalcanal, he took on himself the dangerous task of shepherding the dive-bomber unit back, and went missing → killed in action; promoted two ranks to Commander.
