Born in Nagano Prefecture in 1923 (Taisho 12) → 1940.6 entered the 13th Otsu-class Yokaren at 17 → completed the flight training (26th) course at the Nagoya and Oita Naval Air Groups, took extended training at Suzuka and Atsugi, and in 1943.12 was attached to the 201st Naval Air Group, going forward to the hard-fought Rabaul front → beginning with his first victory on the 17th, immediately after arriving, he shot down 10 aircraft individually (3 of them unconfirmed) within two weeks → on 1944.1.3, when the 201st Naval Air Group moved to Truk, he was attached to the 253rd Naval Air Group and fought well in daily interceptions; his individual score in this period is not known (it is thought to have been at least greater than in his time with the 201st Naval Air Group) → in the interception of 2.10, 高岩, a PO1c of just 20, failed to return; officially declared killed
