27 February 1944, received its colours at Marugame→under the 55th Division→February 1944, encircled the Indian 5th Division in the Sinzweya basin to support the Imphal operation→water and food ran out, and after a week of attacks under British-Indian counter-attack it could not take the position→supplies did not reach it, it was driven off and withdrew→245 men killed

At Sinzweya the regiment surrounded an Indian division but could not force its collapse, and withdrew after losing 245 men killed.
