War record
January–May 1942 (part of the 18th Division). After the capture of Rangoon, formed a motorised "pursuit force" for the drive on Mandalay→pushed north through central Burma after the British-Indian and Chinese forces→late April 1942, entered Mandalay
According to the book, Division Commander 牟田口, determined not to lose out in advance speed to the rival 55th Division, kept driving the pursuit unit onward.

What is still not known
- Commanding officer: this field could not be read in our copy (the top of the page is cut off).
- Men of this unit: apart from the commander, no names have been gathered yet.
This card is made only of facts copied from one book. Only what can be confirmed against a primary source will one day become 🟢. An empty field means the book does not say. Nothing has been filled in by guesswork.
