War record
From August 1942 (part of the South Seas Detachment). The South Seas Detachment (built around the 144th Infantry Regiment) landed in the Buna area of New Guinea to take Port Moresby→undertook the overland crossing towards Port Moresby by way of Buna and Kokoda→struggled with the steep terrain of the Owen Stanley Range, Australian resistance and short supply→September, reached the area of Isurava and the Gap, but the worsening situation on Guadalcanal brought orders to break off the operation and withdraw→pulled back over the Owen Stanley Range to Buna and Gona
None in particular.

This card is made only of facts copied from one book. Only what can be confirmed against a primary source will one day become 🟢. An empty field means the book does not say. Nothing has been filled in by guesswork.
