27 September 1943, received its colours at Okayama→under the 54th Division, took up the defence of south-western Burma (the Irrawaddy delta and the Akyab sector)→around July–August 1944, was pursued by British-Indian forces during the crossing of the Sittang and retreated→split into the 木庭 Detachment and others and crossed the Sittang on bamboo rafts→about 80 per cent of the regiment was killed at Minlantazeik→its colours were burned
