War record
23 March 1943, received its colours at Mito→under the 55th Division, took up the defence of the Akyab area→early 1943, the 有延 Detachment (1st Battalion) fought hard against British-Indian forces in the Donbaik sector (the first Arakan operation)→a hard fight in which about 30 per cent of those engaged were killed or wounded→it is recorded that the regiment received a letter of commendation from 55th Division headquarters
According to the book, the regiment repelled a British-Indian offensive around Donbaik, enduring fierce fighting in which 30 percent of participants were killed or wounded, and received a commendation from division headquarters.
