War record
October 1942 (part of the 2nd Division). As the left-hand force in the division's all-out attack, planned a night assault out of the dense jungle on the upper Lunga River→made two night attacks on 24–26 October, but heavy rain and the jungle broke down communications and the attack stalled→it ended in failure with heavy losses
According to the book, the general assault was a gamble staked on "thunderstorm and darkness," but confusion caused by heavy rain and dense jungle kept the regiment's main body from breaking into the enemy position.

This card is made only of facts copied from one book. Only what can be confirmed against a primary source will one day become 🟢. An empty field means the book does not say. Nothing has been filled in by guesswork.
