War record
Received its colours in 1905→formed at Kofu, under the 1st Division→December 1944, moved to the Limon Pass sector on Leyte and tried to counter-attack at Capoocan, but could not save the division's main body→January 1945, the main body of the regiment was almost entirely destroyed in the fighting for Hill 552→only a few got away to Cebu
The regiment attempted a counterattack to relieve the Limon Pass front, but the effort fell short, and only a very few officers and men managed to escape.
