13 October 1943, received its colours at Omura→under the 18th Division, took up the defence of the Hukawng→fought newly raised Chinese forces for about eight months in the Hukawng valley, which was called "the valley of death"→food and ammunition ran out, and it is recorded that the regiment fought on to the last at Kamaing
The regiment fought the reorganized Chinese army for eight months in the Hukawng, the "Valley of Death," and was worn down until food and ammunition ran out.
