War record

Raised in the Meiji period, re-formed at Kyoto→under the 15th Division→fought back and forth with British forces over Sangshak, which had been seized without orders→the 福島 battalion came under heavy shelling and took losses so severe that only a few men, the battalion commander among them, appeared afterwards

According to the book, the regiment attacked Sangshak, but the 福島 Battalion suffered losses amounting to near-annihilation.
