War record

Formed at Kumamoto; by way of Nomonhan and Hailar, moved to Luzon at the end of 1944→under the Shobu Group, fought at close quarters near Sison and attacked with suicide squads→moved from place to place around Baguio, at カテナ, Kabayan and elsewhere, fighting off guerrillas→the war ended for it in the アプゴ range by the end of July

With ammunition and food running out, the regiment repeatedly sent out suicide squads in close-quarters fighting to try to slow the American advance. The survival rate is said to have been under 10 percent.
