After the attack was broken off, prepared again and made a third attack (8 August)→took Hengyang

In the midst of the attack on Hengyang, a column on the same page reports that a B-29 flying from Chengdu, Sichuan, carried out the first air raid on the Yawata Steel Works in Kitakyushu.

At Hengyang, the army commander's order to break off the attack is described in the record as a courageous decision to halt the river crossing
