1925年3月24日 進水→1925年11月30日 竣工→1927年8月24日、美保関事件（夜間演習中に第27駆逐隊「葦」と衝突する事故）に第五戦隊第2小隊として遭遇→1935年9月、第四艦隊事件に第四水雷戦隊旗艦として遭遇→1941年12月、フィリピン攻略戦（ビガン攻略・リンガエン湾上陸作戦）に第二急襲隊として参加→1942年1月、タラカン・バリクパパン攻略に参加、バリクパパン沖海戦でオランダ潜水艦K XVIIIの雷撃を受ける→1942年2月末、スラバヤ沖海戦の護衛部隊（第四水雷戦隊旗艦）として行動→1944年2月17日、トラック島空襲でアメリカ軍空母機動部隊艦載機の攻撃を受け沈没。1944年3月31日除籍
