War record
Part of the 32nd Army→April–June 1945, the Okinawa campaign; fired on the Yomitan and Kadena fronts and supported the night offensive near Shitahaku→June, fell back north of Mabuni; the main body was annihilated (gyokusai), part of the regiment having been left on Miyakojima
The regiment inflicted losses on the enemy with planned night bombardments, but faced overwhelming counterattacks and was forced to retreat repeatedly.
