After graduating from Matsuyama Middle School he enlisted → 1933.3 completed the 19th pilot trainee course; fighter pilot → 1937.10 joined Kaga (about a year at the front) → end of 1939 the 〔12th Naval Air Group〕 (the Guilin attack; no chance of air combat) → 1941.10 Tainan Naval Air Group (the southern operations) → instructor, 〔Omura Naval Air Group〕 → 1943.4 promoted Ensign, attached to the 〔251st Naval Air Group〕, moved up to Rabaul → 1943.6.16 first victory in an air battle over the Russell Islands (aged over 30) → as division leader of the 〔204th〕 and then the 〔201st Naval Air Group〕 he came through more than six months of air fighting centred on Rabaul → 1944.3 〔302nd Naval Air Group〕 at Atsugi → 1945.5 division leader of Fighter Squadron 301, 〔343rd Naval Air Group〕; he was engaged in the air defence of southern Kyushu when the war ended.
