23 May 1938, received its colours at Fukuoka→under the 56th Division→May 1944, posted to the Lameng position in Yunnan and built defences against the coming Chinese Expeditionary Force→from June, for a little over two months, about 1,200 men met an attack by some 40,000 of the Chinese Expeditionary Force→in September the position was annihilated (gyokusai)→it is recorded that the hard fighting of the Lameng garrison was praised even in a congratulatory telegram from Chiang Kai-shek

According to the book, at the position in 拉孟, Yunnan, China, roughly 1,200 men held off a Chinese expeditionary force of 40,000 for over two months, and their hard fighting was praised even in a congratulatory telegram from Chiang Kai-shek.
